Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies for the hospital and its clinics. You will also handle charging, billing, and logging of OR services and patient charges, and perform daily biological testing.

This role requires completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program or 18 months of relevant experience, and the ability to float across all UCI Health locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant experience
• Ability to float across all UCI Health locations as needed
• Knowledge of infectious control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department across hospital and clinics
• Charge, billing, and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR
• Perform daily biological testing
• Participate in performance improvement projects as requested
