Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies for the hospital and clinics.

The role also handles charging, billing, and logging of services, conducts daily biological testing, and supports department and center-wide performance improvement projects. Strong certification and flexible scheduling are valued.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology, or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification; maintain via CEUs and renewal.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the hospital and clinics.
• Handle charging, billing, and logging of services as well as patient charges for the OR.
• Perform daily biological testing.
• Participate in department and center-wide performance improvement projects.
