Job summary

UCI Health is hiring a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, and sterilize supplies used across hospital departments and clinics. The role includes charging and logging service activities, and daily biological testing.

Successful candidates will have accredited sterile processing training or equivalent experience and must be able to float across UCI Health locations, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accredited school in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Must be willing to float between all UCI Health locations as needed
• Knowledge of infection control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for hospital and outpatient clinics
• Charge, bill, and log services as well as patient charges for the OR
• Perform daily biological testing and participate in performance improvement projects
• Float between UCI Health locations as needed
