Job summary

UCI Health in California is hiring a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies for the hospital and clinics. You will also handle charging, billing and logging of services for the OR, and perform daily biological testing.

The role supports performance improvement projects and special initiatives, with shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification; maintain certification with CEUs and renewals.
• Able to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology, or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the hospital and clinics.
• Perform charging, billing and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR.
• Conduct daily biological testing and participate in performance improvement projects.
