Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to join our patient-centered team in Irvine, CA. You will decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment, support the OR, and report on service and patient charges.

The role requires flexibility to float between all UCI Health locations as needed. Applicants should have completed an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or possess 18 months of relevant Sterile Processing experience, knowledge of infection

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Required to float across all UCI Health locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment.
• Charge, bill, and log service as well as patient charges for the OR.
• Perform daily biological testing.
• Participate in departmental and hospital-wide performance improvement projects.
