Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach is seeking a Central Communications Operator to support 24/7/365 emergency and nonemergency communications across Sentara hospitals and services. You will act as the primary hub, coordinating rapid responses, internal escalations, and exceptional customer service with urgency and precision.

The role requires handling high-pressure situations calmly, with attention to detail, and familiarity with hospital communications systems and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of experience in high-volume communications, call center, or service operations.

Operating within a centralized, 24/7 environment, this role serves as the primary hub for emergency and nonemergency communications—supporting rapid response coordination, internal escalation, and exceptional customer service.
