Job summary

Amrize seeks a versatile team member for our Alpena Cement Plant in Michigan to support daily shift operations and equipment tasks. The role involves mechanical duties, inspections, and physical work, with the need to manage multiple items across the shift.

The incumbent will identify environmental issues, implement test-based process changes, and uphold quality and safety standards, including ASTM guidelines, while maintaining material flow and reporting issues as they arise.

Qualifications

• Associates/Technical Degree preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work shifts, including extended hours.
• Adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements, including respirators.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct environmental issues during daily shift operations.
• Provide troubleshooting and process changes recommendations based on test results.
• Perform shift and pre-start inspections; ensure safety or maintenance issues are addressed.
• Ensure quality parameters throughout processes per Amrize and ASTM guidelines.
• Measure silos as needed.
• Maintain raw material flow in hoppers, tanks and feeders and report blockages.
• Clean around hoppers, coke tunnel, and finish mill feeders as needed.
• Work any shift, including weekends and paid holidays.
• Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.
• Operate mobile equipment including skid loader, forklift, man lift, telehandler, vac truck, dozer.
• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environmental policies.
