Axle Energy, based in Gaithersburg, MD, seeks a Scientist in the Cell Line Development Group to support NIH/NIAID efforts. The role focuses on developing stable cell lines for vaccine and biotherapeutic candidates, with emphasis on CHO/293 lines and genetic characterization using RT-PCR and NGS.

The candidate will lead plasmid design and cloning, perform high-throughput cloning and cell line screening, and contribute to regulatory documentation and technology transfer.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related field with a minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in developing stable cell lines for vaccines and biologics.
• Field of Study: Biology.
• Software: MS Office Suite.
• Extensive hands-on experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture for generating clonally derived cell lines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute generation of stable cell lines for preclinical and clinical material production.
• Use molecular biology techniques (RT-PCR, NGS) for genetic characterization.
• Design and construct plasmids for gene expression.
• Mentor junior staff and train others in equipment use.
• Prepare and review data for regulatory filings and tech transfer.
