Job summary

Axle in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Scientist in the Cell Line Development Group to advance vaccine and biotherapeutic candidates. The role involves generating stable CHO/293 lines, performing molecular biology tasks, and contributing to regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Biological Sciences or related field with 2+ years in industry focused on stable cell lines for vaccine/biotherapeutics.
• Extensive hands-on aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture for monoclonal antibodies or vaccines.
• Ability to design experiments, generate data, and write technical reports for regulatory filings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute generation of stable cell lines for preclinical/clinical material production.
• Use RT-PCR and NGS for genetic characterization of cell lines.
• Gene synthesis including plasmid design and construction.
• Independently perform plasmid construction, stable pool generation, and single-cell cloning.
• Draft data for CMC sections of pre-IND/IND documents.
• Design, perform, and troubleshoot experiments; track timelines for multiple projects.
