Job summary

Qualifications

• CDM certification from a recognized body.
• Associate's degree or higher in nutrition, food service management, or a related field.
• 1+ years in a skilled nursing care facility or other medical facility.
• 1+ years in culinary management.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation.
• Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications and software related to dietary management, such as menu planning and inventory systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop nutritious, well-balanced menus in consultation with the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
• Coordinate and supervise food preparation, cooking, and serving activities.
• Oversee the work of dietary staff, including cooks, aides, and dishwashers.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of food supplies, equipment, and other materials.
• Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas and dining rooms.
• Develop and maintain records of dietary activities and staff schedules.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet dietary needs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cost-management efforts.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets.
