Job summary

GFL is hiring a driver to operate collection vehicles on a daily route, ensuring timely pickup of solid waste, yard waste and recyclables while upholding safety standards. The role includes inspecting vehicles, documenting route data, and reporting issues to the supervisor.

Training may be provided, and helpers may be assigned. Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid CDL, with at least 1 year of driving experience or a CDL school certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid CDL.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive and operate the truck and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more vehicle types on a collection route, collecting waste, yard waste, and recyclables.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports daily.
• Report vehicle mechanical problems to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior.
• Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable.
• Adhere to safety policies and company directives.
