Job summary

City of Austin’s Austin Resource Recovery department seeks a Litter Control Operator to drive refuse equipment and perform field duties. You will load, haul, and process trash, recyclables, and bulky items while following safety protocols and DOT rules.

The role requires a current Class B CDL, ability to operate heavy trucks, read maps, and train others as needed. Weekend/early morning shifts and event support are possible.

Qualifications

• One year of driving experience with a current CDL.
• Must obtain required endorsements within 120 days of employment.
• Knowledge of waste services equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Operate ARR vehicles and equipment for trash, recyclables, and bulky items.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle records.
• Assist in training others and follow safety rules.
