Job summary

City of Austin's ARR seeks a skilled Operations Worker to operate rear-loading refuse trucks and other ARR vehicles, perform routine maintenance, and assist in training crews. You will follow routes, read maps, maintain records, and provide courteous service to residents while working outdoors in various weather conditions.

This role requires a valid Class B CDL, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and willingness to work early mornings, holidays, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of driving experience with a current CDL.
• Must obtain required endorsements within 120 days of employment.
• CDL Class B minimum with endorsements as required.

Responsibilities

• Picks up, processes, or disposes of trash and recyclables and dumps materials at designated sites.
• Maintains routes and streets, following maps and micro-routes.
• Pre-trips vehicles and maintains records; completes reports.
• Assists in training others in equipment use and safety.
