Swift Transportation is seeking an experienced trainer to coach student drivers toward CDL certification. The role involves classroom-like instruction and practical road training to build skilled, road-ready drivers.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, evaluating progress, and ensuring students meet state requirements. Applicants should have strong communication and teaching skills, with a commitment to continuous learning within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Must possess exceptional communication skills and be able to teach and mentor students.
• Experience teaching or training prospective truck drivers is preferred.
• Must maintain PTDI and CVTA standards and complete ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate student drivers to ensure they become licensed commercial drivers.
• Instruct safety inspections and driving maneuvers including turns, curves, backing, and road handling.
• Assess readiness to progress from range to road and resolve student issues.
• Work to support organizational objectives and mentor others.
