Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking an instructor to train and evaluate student drivers toward CDL licensing. The role covers safety inspections, driving instruction, and progress assessments to move students from range to road.

The position requires Class A CDL or Examiner certification, flexibility to work in all weather, and adherence to PTDI/CVTA standards, with strong communication and teaching skills.

Qualifications

• Must have exceptional communication skills.
• Must qualify as a Class A CDL driver or have state CDL Examiner certification.
• Must maintain PTDI and CVTA standards and ongoing education.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate student drivers to become licensed CDL holders.
• Instruct safety inspections for trucks and trailers.
• Teach driving skills: turns, backs, road maneuvers, upgrades/downgrades.
• Evaluate progress daily and determine when to progress from range to road.
• Resolve student issues promptly and support team goals.
