Job summary

Knight Transportation is hiring a CDL instructor to train and evaluate student drivers, ensuring they gain the skills to become licensed commercial drivers. You will teach safety inspections, backing, turns, and road driving, while assessing progress and handling upgrades from range to road.

Avalid candidate will have at least 1 year of truck driving experience, a clean record, and relevant certifications; the role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year truck driving experience.
• Ability to meet company CDL requirements and certifications.
• Must maintain PTDI and CVTA standards with ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Train and/or evaluate student drivers to become licensed commercial drivers.
• Deliver hands-on training in safety inspections, backing up, turns, and driving in varied traffic.
• Assess readiness to move from range to road and manage upgrades/downgrades.
• Ensure students handle intersections, urban/rural routes, and expressways safely.
• Maintain a positive atmosphere and support business operations.
