Qualifications

• 2+ years OTR experience required unless state law requires more.
• Class A CDL qualification per company hiring rules.
• CDL Examiner certification if exams are administered.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Train and/or evaluate student drivers ensuring they possess the skills to become a licensed commercial driver.
• If incumbent has acquired and maintains CDL Examiner certification issued by State, may administer exams as needed.
• Train student drivers on performing safety inspections relating to potential truck/trailer issues.
• Instruct driving skills such as turns, curves, backing, etc.
• Evaluate designated student drivers daily to determine readiness for progression from range to road.
• Ensure student drivers know how to perform on upgrades/downgrades and handle intersections and urban/rural roads.
• Resolve student issues effectively and proactively support organizational objectives.
