Job summary

Republic Services is looking to hire a Driver Trainee in the United States. The program trains employees to obtain a CDL and transition into a Driver role across various lines of business, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off.

During training, candidates will study, drive, and complete the CDL examination with support from the company. After obtaining a CDL, you’ll continue in a Driver role with benefit-rich compensation and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers' license.
• Starting rate: $22/hr with CDL training and weekly OT and benefits.
• Pay Range: $18.75 to $20.62* depending on locality.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete CDL training program including classroom and on-route training.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Safely operate heavy/CM truck on designated routes and dispose of material at facilities.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag accordingly.
• Monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime and keep truck clean.
