Job summary

Republic Services offers CDL training to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) with the goal of advancing to a Driver position across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, and resources to pass the CDL examination.

After earning a CDL, you will complete twelve months of employment and assume duties as a Driver in one of the company lines of business.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Republic Services after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the assigned vehicle.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and to the disposal site.
• Learn to operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies to lift and load refuse and dispose of material.
