Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee to train for a CDL and progress into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business. The program covers classroom study, on-road training, and the resources needed to pass the CDL exam.

Upon successful CDL attainment, you will complete at least 12 months of employment with Republic Services and perform driver duties per the company’s routes and safety policies.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers' license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services' CDL training program, including classroom, on-route training, driving experience and CDL exam resources.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and service customers.
• Learn to operate controls to lift and load refuse, and dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and ensure vehicles are operational.
