Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Swing Driver to cover a variety of routes, including Front End, Roll-Off and Residential trucks. You’ll be the versatile go-to driver keeping communities clean and moving, with a focus on safe operations and reliable service.

Valid CDL, 1+ year of commercial driving, and ability to back into tight spaces are required. You’ll work outdoors in all weather, mentor newer drivers when needed, and represent GFL professionally on the road.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Experience: 1+ year of commercial driving or CDL school certificate.
• Driving savvy: back into tight spaces up to 120+ feet using mirrors.
• Physical stamina: outdoor work in all weather, ~75% seated, lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Adaptability: able to adjust to changing daily routes with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Drive & Master the Fleet: Safely operate a variety of trucks across different routes as needed.
• Be the MVP: Fill gaps for different routes to ensure reliable service.
• Safety First, Always: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports.
• Keep It Operational: Report mechanical issues promptly and keep vehicle clean.
• Team Leadership: Manage/guide route Helpers and mentor newer drivers.
• Community Connection: Represent GFL professionally with customers and the public.
