GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to join our team. You will operate rear-load and automated-side trucks on designated routes, load and compact waste, and help ensure safety and compliance on every shift.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, maintaining DOT logs, interacting with customers, and adhering to all regulations. The role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired but not required.
• Possess valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Able to meet safety-sensitive criteria and safely operate the truck and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drives a rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load truck along designated routes to collect waste and transport to post-collection facilities.
• Assist helpers in loading solid waste into truck hopper as route conditions require.
• Use helpers while backing up according to Company policy.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies, safety compliance and quality standards on route.
• Operate mechanical packer to load and compact trash from hopper into the truck body.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public; notify supervisor of issues needing action.
• Maintain clean surroundings and report spills; manage DOT logs and route/productivity sheets.
• Back up with mirrors and GPS mapping; follow lock out/tag out safety procedures.
• Monitor for debris, observe safety hazards, and respond to dumps safely.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
