Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site with a focus on safety and reliability.

You must hold a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P); school bus endorsement (S) is preferred. Candidates need a clean driving record, background checks, MVR, and FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance. A mature Christian faith and church involvement are required.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith as per LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active church involvement aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL license; copy may be kept on file; licensed for past three years.
• Endorsements: P required; S preferred for school bus operation.
• Age between 21–80; drivers above 75 to submit CDL copy & endorsement annually.
• No at-fault accidents or citations in last five years; clean driving record.
• Background check, MVR, and FMCSA Clearinghouse compliance required.
• Drug/alcohol testing per policy; annual underwriter-approved physician's statement for medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus; perform regular inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed; ensure proper fueling discipline.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules; assist with boarding and alighting; remain calm and caring.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training; participate in classroom volunteering if agreed with director.
