Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL‑licensed driver for residential garbage and recycling collection in Springfield, MO. You will operate a side-load and/or rear-load truck, load waste, and compact materials on your route, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining the vehicle.

The role requires a valid CDL, at least one year of commercial driving (or CDL school), and the ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria. Overtime and safety meetings are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards
• Demonstrate ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes.
• Load waste or recyclables into the vehicle and compact material.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove them from carts.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is worn at all times.
• Maintain accurate service records and route sheets.
• Work overtime as needed and attend safety/branch meetings.
