Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Residential Driver in Harrisonville, MO to safely and efficiently collect waste and recyclables along curbside and backdoor routes.

The role involves driving a rear-load or automated-side load truck, assisting helpers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain DOT logs, and interact courteously with customers on route.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must be able to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Must be able to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drives a rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load truck on designated routes to collect waste and take to post-collection facilities.
• Assist helpers in loading solid waste into the truck hopper as route conditions require.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; submit vehicle condition report at shift end.
• Interact courteously with customers and report issues to supervision as needed.
• Maintain DOT logs and daily route/productivity sheets as required by law or policy.
• Back up using mirrors and GPS to locate service addresses and back into spaces safely.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards on all routes.
• Operate the packer to load and compact trash into the truck body.
