Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Rear Load Truck Driver to service customers with trash and recycling collection on commercial and residential routes. You’ll operate a heavy truck, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain logs, delivering safe, reliable service daily.

You must have a valid Class B CDL, a DOT medical card, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly; the role requires attention to safety and customer service while working flexible hours, including nights and

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Class B CDL required, DOT medical card.
• Experience in waste industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers, safely and compliantly.
• Routinely enter/exit the truck 300-600 times per day.
• Pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings.
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area.
• Clean up waste spills and overflows.
• Maintain and update route and driver logs.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body and ensure cleanliness of truck cab.
• Deliver trash or recycling containers as needed.
• Manually load bulk items as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned truck.
• Operate other types of trucks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
