Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Iowa is seeking a driver trainee to safely load and unload freight, operate a forklift and pallet jack, and secure cargo in the yard. You will complete pre- and post-shift checks, assist with dock operations, and ensure compliance with safety and FMCSA regulations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be 21+ in accordance with FMCSA, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a forklift (7,500 lb. capacity) reliably and safely.
• Must be capable of pushing/pulling loaded pallet jack or hand truck (70 lbs. min).
• Must comply with FMCSA, safety, and company policies and procedures.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and drive for Estes.
• Must meet minimum physical requirements and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver trailers and equipment for loading/unloading.
• Cube, load, unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
• Secure freight to prevent damage and record conditions on arrival.
• Perform pre/post-shift inspections and operate yard/dock equipment safely.
• Work in the yard and dock, including some nights/weekends as needed.
