Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Davenport, IA is seeking a driver trainee to safely handle tractor/trailers and perform yard duties, loading and unloading freight with equipment or by hand. You will ensure securement of freight and document freight condition on arrival, while following safety and FMCSA requirements.

The role may include pre/post-shift inspections, clock tracking, and working with yard and dock operations to meet performance standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb. vehicle).
• Ability to push/pull loaded pallets and hand trucks; lift 70 lbs+.
• Must pass FMCSA pre-employment drug screen and meet safety standards.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment in the yard.
• Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Secure freight to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
• Record the condition of freight upon arrival at the service center.
