Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking candidates for a Driver Trainee role to support yard and dock operations at our service center. You will learn to safely handle trailers, cube and load freight, and participate in driver training activities while meeting FMCSA standards.

The position requires a valid driver's license, willingness to enroll in Estes-sponsored driving school, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment to facilitate loading/unloading operations.
• Cube, load, and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand.
• Secure freight with straps/braces to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight upon arrival at the service center.
• Perform pre/post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
