Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, is seeking Highway Maintenance Workers for statewide locations. A valid CDL (Class A or B) with Tanker and Airbrakes endorsements is required, plus MEC.

Will perform maintenance and repair of roads, bridges, and related facilities, operate complex mechanical equipment, and respond to emergencies, including winter overtime. Applicants should be prepared to work in various districts statewide and meet the minimum qualifications.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in construction, landscaping, or maintenance with mechanical equipment.
• CDL required; Tanker and Airbrakes endorsements required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of state roadways, bridges, and related facilities.
• Operate and perform routine repairs on mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to respond to emergency duties including snow removal.
