Job summary

Nebraska Department of Transportation is seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior in Arthur, NE. You will operate a range of highway maintenance equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support snow removal and emergency responses to keep roads safe and passable throughout the state.

The role requires a valid driver's license; CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements are needed for the Senior level within 60 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: 18+ years old with valid driver's license.
• Senior role requires Class A/B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.
• Preferred: experience operating heavy equipment and tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment (trucks, rollers, loaders, graders, snowplows).
• Identify maintenance needs and assist with repairs and servicing of equipment.
• Patch roadways and repair signs, bridges, culverts, and related structures.
• Perform snow removal and emergency response as needed, including nights and weekends.
