Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking qualified applicants for a Transportation Maintainer 2 (DOT Highway Electrical Technician) in the Hartford area. This role involves electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance of traffic signals and highway lighting within District 1.

A 2-year training period leads to advancement to Qualified Craft Worker (Electrical). Candidates must hold a valid CDL with tank endorsement and MEC at interview, be willing to emergency

Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in construction, maintenance or repair of roadsides/bridges or related facilities with mechanical equipment.
Willingness to perform emergency duties including winter overtime and working at heights.
Prerequisite CDL with tank endorsement and MEC at interview; must show at interview.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance of traffic lights and highway illumination in District 1.
Respond to emergency duties including snow and ice removal when required.
Adhere to safety, respirator policy, and preemployment requirements.
