Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) seeks a Transportation Maintainer 2 (DOT Highway Electrical Technician) in the Hartford Electrical Facility to perform electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance of traffic signals and highway illumination within District 1. Upon completion of a 2-year training period, the incumbent may be promoted to Qualified Craft Worker (Electrical).

The role requires CDL with tank endorsement, readiness for emergency duties including snow

Qualifications

• CDL with tank endorsement required
• Willingness to perform emergency duties including snow/ice removal and winter overtime
• 30-mile residency from Hartford posting location
• Ability to work at heights in bucket trucks and perform high-voltage repairs

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance of traffic lights and highway illumination within District 1.
• Operate and maintain electrical equipment related to road infrastructure and lighting as assigned.
• Be available for emergency duty assignments as needed; participate in winter overtime and storm response.
