Job summary

State of Colorado, CDOT, seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist for Monarch Pass, CO. You will perform snow plowing, operate heavy equipment, mow, remove debris, install signs, and maintain roads to keep Colorado highways safe.

This role requires a Colorado CDL A/B, at least two years of heavy labor or equipment experience, and willingness to work outdoors in challenging conditions; compensation includes base pay and housing stipend, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no air-brake restriction.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in variable elevations up to 12,000 feet.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow.
• Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump truck, loader, tractor mower.
• Mowing grass and weeds.
• Removing debris from roadways, including rock, mud, and deceased animals.
• Removing debris from culverts, tunnels, etc.
• Shoveling gravel, sand, concrete, and asphalt.
• Installing and repairing guardrail, highway markers and signs, warning signs, and lighting.
• Filling potholes and roadway cracks.
• Setting out signs and cones for traffic control.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs.
• Following safety guidance and wearing proper safety equipment.
