Job summary

State of Colorado’s CDOT seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Poudre Canyon, CO. You will perform snow plowing, operate heavy equipment, and repair/maintain roadways, signs, and guardrails in a team environment. This role includes on-call duties and potential overtime to ensure safe travel conditions.

Candidate must hold a valid CDL Class A or B and have at least two years of physical labor or heavy equipment experience. CDOT offers comprehensive benefits and a strong retirement program.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restrictions on air brakes.
• Minimum two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and maintaining roadways.
• Operating heavy equipment (e.g., tandem dump truck, loader, tractor mower).
• Mowing grass and weeds; removing debris from roadways and culverts.
• Installing/repairing guardrails, signs, and lighting; patching potholes.
• Setting traffic control and responding to emergencies/outages as needed.
