Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation in Greeley, CO is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist to perform winter operations, street and highway maintenance, and on‑call emergency response. You will operate heavy equipment, plow snow, and maintain road safety under supervision.

Applicants need at least two years of physical labor or equipment operation, hold a Class A or B CDL with no air‑brakes restriction, and be prepared for work outdoors and variable hours across shifts.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brakes restriction, or eligibility to obtain in Colorado.
• Willingness to work outdoors and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and maintaining roadways.
• Operating heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, backhoes).
• Mowing grass, removing debris, and clearing roadways.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, and lighting.
• Setting out traffic control devices and responding to emergencies.
• Maintaining equipment and following safety procedures.
