Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist for a Boulder, CO role focused on safety and hands-on maintenance. You will work on snow plowing, debris removal, and traffic control, often outdoors in changing conditions.

Qualifications

• Two years of physical labor or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restriction on air brakes.
• Must pass a pre-employment screening and may be required for DOT physical or drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and operating heavy equipment as required.
• Mowing grass and weeds; removing debris from roadways.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, lighting, and pavement markings.
• Setting out traffic control signs and cones; maintaining equipment.
• Following safety guidelines and wearing PPE.
