Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a PennDOT CDL Operator (Transportation Equipment Operator A) to maintain and operate highway equipment in Shippenville. The role requires reliable CDL credentials and adherence to safety practices while performing essential field tasks.

Responsibilities include operating trucks and loaders, performing equipment checks, flagging in work zones, and conducting light maintenance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program or an equivalent Federal/ Commonwealth title.
• Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School or equivalent.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and other highway maintenance equipment.
• Maintain required CDL credentials and complete equipment checks daily.
• Perform flagging duties to support safe traffic movement during work operations.
• Use hand and power tools to clear brush, clean culverts, repair guiderails, and related tasks.
• Perform field adjustments, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, identify hazards, and report injuries or near misses.
