Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through PennDOT, seeks a CDL Operator A to operate trucks and loaders for highway and bridge maintenance. You will perform manual labor, flag traffic, and ensure safety and environmental compliance in daily field work.

Responsibilities include maintaining CDL credentials, conducting pre/post checks, and assisting mechanics. This full-time role requires working hours 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with travel and possible overtime; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee program or CDL training.
• Graduation from CDL training school or equivalent experience.
• Active CDL with Air Brake Restriction (L) removed and Tank Vehicle Endorsement.

Responsabilités

• Operate trucks, loaders and other machinery for maintenance activities.
• Maintain required CDL credentials and perform pre/post checks.
• Perform flagging to guide and protect traffic when equipment is not operating.
• Carry out manual labor such as cleaning culverts, cutting brush, and repairing guiderails.
• Make field adjustments, perform minor repairs and assist mechanics as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards; ensure environmental protection during maintenance.
