PennDOT is hiring a CDL Operator (Transportation Equipment Operator A) in Bradford County. This full-time role operates highway and bridge maintenance equipment and performs hands-on tasks to keep roads safe and communities connected.

Applicants must hold an active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with air brake and manual transmission restrictions removed, plus a Medical Examiner's Certificate and PennDOT endorsements. Starting salary is $45,888 per year, with standard agency benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience and training requirements: completion of a recognized training program or equivalent.
• Active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake (L) and Manual Transmission (E) restrictions removed.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate required.
• PennDOT certification in operation of heavy trucks and loaders within probationary period.
• Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) required during probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and other equipment for highway and bridge work.
• Use hand and power tools for maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
• Perform flagger duties to guide motorists through work areas.
• Complete pre/post operation checks and maintain equipment records.
• Assist mechanics with repairs and field adjustments.
