Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Residential Driver in Decatur, AL to safely and efficiently collect waste and recyclables on curbside and backdoor routes.

The role emphasizes courteous service and adherence to safety policies while transporting materials to post-collection facilities. Pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, with benefits including PTO, health plans, an HSA with employer match, parental leave, a 401(k) with employer match, disability coverage, life insurance, and mental health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely operate the truck and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection vehicles on specified routes.
• Load waste/recyclables into the vehicle and ensure proper containment.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues.
• Complete safety inspections and required documentation daily.
• Communicate any mechanical problems to supervisor or mechanics.
• Maintain route quality and comply with all safety rules and policies.
