Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring for a waste collection driver in the Clinton, AL area. The role involves operating residential and commercial waste trucks, loading recyclables, and ensuring safe, efficient collection along specified routes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License and meet safety-sensitive criteria.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.
• Strong awareness of road safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential, side-load and rear-load waste collection trucks and hydraulics on assigned route.
• Load waste/recyclables into the vehicle and compact material as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
• Identify and report vehicle mechanical issues to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain route quality, safety standards, and PPE usage at all times.
• Communicate with supervisor about any safety or route concerns.
• May supervise helpers and assist with route optimization.
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
