Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver for residential waste and recycling collection in Peoria, IL. The role involves operating side-load and rear-load trucks, loading bins, and maintaining route quality with emphasis on safety and customer service.

You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, document routes, and communicate any vehicle issues. The position requires a valid CDL, at least 1 year of driving experience, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and meet safety criteria.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to safely operate a residential/recycling collection vehicle and equipment.
• Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 50 pounds repeatedly with proper technique.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks and equipment on assigned routes.
• Load waste or recyclables into the truck and use compaction controls.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain trip documentation.
• Communicate mechanical issues to supervisors and mechanics promptly.
• Maintain route quality and safety compliance with company policies.
