Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Texas is seeking a CDL driver/dock associate to operate tractor-trailer combinations and assist with dock duties during freight movement.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, securing freight, forklifts and pallet jacks, and coordinating with Dispatch. Candidates must hold a Class A CDL, have a clean MVR, meet DOT requirements, and be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Excellent safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL or a CLP prior to entering the role.
• Must have an acceptable MVR according to hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulation requirements under FMC 391.
• Ability to perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, several times a week.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays or equipment issues.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
