Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform dock duties. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour with duties including pre-trip inspections and safe freight handling.

Responsibilities include meeting DOT regulations, communicating with Dispatch, and assisting customers with pickups and deliveries. This role may involve some non-driving duties such as forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learner permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 392 and related FMC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Communicate with Dispatch to manage delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Assist customers with pick-up or delivery needs and generate sales leads when possible.
