Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learner permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) according to hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and maneuver trailers requiring ~100 lbs lift frequently.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and necessary documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instruction on delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Perform city driver or freight handler duties when needed.
• Use forklift or pallet jack for freight handling as required.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
