Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles where required, and to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers. The role may include non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

Starting pay is $25.64 per hour. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and follow dispatch instructions while complying with DOT and hazmat rules.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions on delays or problems.
