FedEx Freight in Massachusetts is seeking a driver/dock associate to operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform non-driving duties, and ensure safe, compliant operations across the dock and yard. The role includes forklift use, heavy lifting, and adherence to DOT/Hazmat guidelines.

Starting pay is $26.84 per hour with a range to $31.97 per hour, plus benefits such as health/dental coverage and a 401(k). Candidates must have a CDL or CLP and a clean MVR to qualify.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related documentation.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Provide internal/external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
• Ask customers for additional business and provide leads to sales.
