Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailers and perform dock duties in addition to non-driving tasks. The starting pay is $24.42 per hour, with responsibilities including inspections, freight handling, securing loads, and communicating with dispatch.

Qualifications include a Class A CDL or CLP, clean MVR, DOT regulatory knowledge, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds multiple times daily.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must have an acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 regulatory requirements.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds multiple times daily.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (and doubles as needed).
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convert dollies.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and customers on pickups/deliveries.
• Assist with road driver duties when required.
