Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/yard driver in Middletown Township, PA to operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform safety inspections, and handle freight on the dock. You may be asked to support road duties and drive day and night across various roads in all weather conditions.

Starting pay is $25.64 per hour. Valid Class A CDL or CLP is required, along with DOT regulatory knowledge and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
• Assist with road driver or freight handler duties as needed.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and DOT procedures.
